Gary Fitzgerald, Dubai Chiropractor

He began his studies in his home country with a BSc from University College Dublin in Ireland. After this he enrolled in Europe’s oldest and most respected chiropractic school (Anglo European College of Chiropractic), where after a further 5 years of university study he graduated with a BSc in Chiropractic (with 1st class honours) and also a MSc in Chiropractic Sciences.

During his time in chiropractic school his thesis on how the birth process affects children was both published and presented at the World Federation of Chiropractic Symposium. In addition to this, he graduated with the Flavio Grillo prize for the most clinically competent intern in his graduating class.

After Graduating

After graduating he has continually sought to improve his knowledge base by travelling to the most recent seminars and conferences which has led to further experience and certification in techniques such as Applied Kiesiology, Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT), Thompson Drop, Gonstead, BEST, Total Body Modification, Natural Healing, Torque Release Technique, Activator Methods and the chiropractic care of children and pregnant mothers. Gary has also been awarded an International Chiropractic Sports Science Diploma (ICSSD).

A Key Concept ~ Education

A key concept that Gary imparts to his patients is education. He strongly believes that, along with having the clinical skills to know where, when and how to treat as well as not treat, it is imperative that the patient understand the benefits of a healthy spine and nervous system and that only by changing previous bad habits such as posture, diet and exercise can the person achieve long term changes and prevent future problems. After all, the origin of the word “doctor” is teacher. Testament to this approach is the fact that patients will travel from around the Middle East and have even traveled from the rest of Asia, Europe, Australia and South America to personally see chiropractor Gary.

Some previous patients from Ireland have even continued their care with Gary after he moved to Dubai. He also receives referrals from GPs, Neurologists, Orthopedists, Paediatricians, Nurses, Physiotherapists and even fellow Chiropractors on a continual basis and has appeared on TV and in newspapers both in the Middle East and in Europe as well as lecturing at the largest medical conference in the Middle East, Arab Health.

Patients Come in all Shapes & Sizes

Gary’s patients come in all shapes and sizes, from newborn babies with colic to office workers with headaches to older people with arthritis. His patients in Europe and Dubai have also included professional sports people (e.g. professional football teams, Olympic athletes, professional golfers etc.), international entertainers, government ministers and royalty. He has been an official chiropractor at the Dubai Rugby 7’s (2006, 2007,2008 and 2009), the Dubai Half Marathon and the Gulf Gaelic Games. He is also the official chiropractor for the Habtoor Polo team and is one of less than 30 chiropractors worldwide (and the only one from the Middle East) to be selected as part of the medical team at the World Games in Taiwan, 2009.

Gary is a founding member of the Emirates Chiropractic Association, and is also a member of the Emirates Medical Association and the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic. He is licenced with the regulatory bodies in the UAE in addition to the New South Wales Chiropractic Regulatory Board (Australia) and the New Zealand Chiropractic Board.
